Goodwill.com ???

I know from reading some of your blogs that Goodwill has a blog of its own and showcases other bloggers that have found thrifty treasures at their stores and how they are being used, revamped, etc. But this morning while watching Today I caught a snippet of what they were talking about. Apparently Goodwill has a website similar to Ebay where they are auctioning items from their store in Santa Ana, Ca.

Have any of you seen this? I didn't have a lot of time to check it out. I plan on looking through it more this evening. It might be kind of nice for those who don't have a Goodwill in their neighborhood to be able to shop from home. (As long as the prices are good and the shipping doesn't kill you) But I thought I would share the link with all of you.

Here it is: Goodwill Shopping

Have a great day :)

Until Later,

~Toni~

  2. I have spent only a little time looking at the site but my initial impression is that items are somewhat over-priced to start with (for used items), and then become even more pricey when you add the shipping costs. As one example, I saw a small 5" x 5" basket with a leather handle. The starting bid was $5.00. They also tack on a "handling" charge so S&H totalled $8.05 ! Mmmm...I don't think so! I doubt a brand new one from Michael's or JoAnn's would cost that much.

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am a new blogger and having so much fun. I love your blog. The banner is beautiful. And I adore the peeling paint on the sides. Very creative. I hope you do get to Grass Valley and Nevada City soon. They are sweet little towns. The churches are in town and easy to find and I did give the name of all of them. I will check out the Goodwill website. Thanks for the info. Oh, your kids~Bear and Rocky are darling. Did you notice that I did a post on our orange tabby cat also named Rocky! I'll be back. Have a good day. Dogwood

  5. Loving Goodwill!
Thanks for leaving a welcome on Christine and my site (The Treasure Hunters). We can't wait til we are able to post of the things we are working on, but right now we are preparing for a show that's in a couple of weeks.
Christine raves about your blog, and I can see why!

  7. I have posted about it but I am not impressed they are over priced-plus the organization of the items is horrible to try and find a specific item. I don't have hours to look through every piece of glass to try and find vintage soda fountain glasses.

Just coming over for a visit. I have changed all of my buttons.
I have the Knock Off Knock Out party on Mondays and we have a brand new party starting this week. It will be every Wed and featuring Holiday Decor and/or tasty treats. Come on by.

  9. Oh thanks, I will have to check it out (of course the shipping could be a problem , but no worse than ebay which I use off and on). I have been very disappointed by my local Good Will store. Their prices are sometimes higher than the original cost!! (you can sometimes see the original sticker)...I can't figure out why this is---the prices of their clothing is fine; but the kitchen items should be lower. I do buy there because I can find old things I like--even an old sheet in a nice pattern.

  17. I have a Goodwill near by and my last "find" was an old picnic basket that made a great planter for my geraniums this summer. Love to go there.
